Default Honest opinions

I got this hood for free from a fellow member of the board, so I still have my red hood. I just wanted to try something different. What do you all think? Is it too much?

doesn't look good at all, especially since it just flat. Everyone will think you can't afford to get it painted

Not sure I really get what you trying to go for. what is it just a stock hood painted flat black? It almost looks like a stock fiberglass race car style version.
I personaly don't car for it. Just my .02

I don't care for it, but that's just my opinion.

I don't need to paint them. As I've stated I still have my red hood. I was going for a look like the '70 Cuda had. Oh well, I'm not a huge fan of it, but I just wanted to see what everyone else thought. As far as people thinking I can't afford to paint it, who gives a ****???

I like the idea in theory, but having the ENTIRE hood and spoiler that color isn't so hot. if it had just like a thick flat black stripe all the way down, and some black halo's i think it would look great! -Jim

I figured thats the look you were going for. To make it look right you would need to paint the b pillar and the whole hatch. Painting the mirrors might help also.

But I don't think our cars have the body lines to pull it off

I don't think it is that bad except the spoiler,if the spoiler was red and you did the Berger panel instead(unless you already did)that might look really sweet!

Here are a couple rough ideas:

I dont think I quite got the curve right in the front and the back doesnt quite look finished, but its an idea none-the-less.

If it were gloss black to tie it in to the wheels and front grill I could see it being pulled off, but the flat black doesn't work in this case IMO. I do like the idea though. Best bet IMO is keep the spoiler and make it body color with one black stripe down the middle with pinstripes on each side, then get an SS hood and do the Manta stripe on it as well, all in gloss black to tie in with the front grill and wheels.

Gloss paint would definitely look better, but overall I think it's just a little too much. The two colors need to be incorporated somehow.

I'm not liking the flat black, I think I have a good idea for you in gloss though, how about this?

I don' t care for the flat black, but if it were cleared it might look ok. Maybe also do Whistler' s headlight mod, and also paint the front of the hatch, where the sides are raised to meet the spoiler leaving the rest of it red.

I see what you were trying to do, but I just don't think it works on our cars. I obviously love the red and black contrast though on the rest of the car!
