Can I just paint over a black carbon fiber hood?

Can I just paint over a black carbon fiber hood? I might buy this carbon fiber hood but I dont like the look of carbon fiber so I wanted to paint it black to match the car. Its a cowl hood thats made of carbon fiber. Would it come out like the rest of the car if I were to primer over it and spray it?

one of the sponsors (same one that makes the Sonoco hood) said that they could make a carbon fiber Sonoco hood for someone, but that it wouldnt be the pretty woven carbon fiber, that it would need to be painted.
my .02 if you are going to paint it, dont spend the extra money for the fancy asthetic woven hood, im sure that there are drag cars that need carbon fiber hoods and that someone makes them. personaly i want a stock hood, just carbon fiber...
