New Paint, how long to wait before polish/wax?
#2
some say at least a month or two. i try to wait as long as possible. 2 months should be good if you really care about it. it also depends on the layers, type of paint as well as how thick it was layered. you won't hurt anything by waiting but if you don't wait you will.

more or less depending on the conditions. if it's a daily driver sometimes even less and of course the time of year helps with the temperature and the duration of the sun. best thing you can do is to let it be out in the sun to cure so just drive it and let it go for a bit.

45-60 days before waxing. you can apply a bodyshop safe polish now, but it will only last a short time due to washing.. there really should be no reason to apply a polish now unless you are seeing a haze or some other defect in the paint that changes the luster.

That is totally wrong. The clearcoat is exactly why you don't want to wax it too soon. The clearcoat is not fully cured for 30-60 days depending on conditions. During that time it is releasing solvents and if you trap those solvents under a nice coat of wax, the clearcoat will not cure as it is supposed to and bring about problems down the line. Bottom line, wait at least 30 days.

At least a month to maybe two months. Don't listen to whoever said you can do it if it's been cleared, because for the next 30-60 days it will still be releasing solvents and "fumes" up through that clear. If you cover it with wax, it's going to get trapped and cause major trouble with your paint.

K, sounds good, just wanted the car to have some protection on it for the cruise I'm doing on Saturday. Gotta wait another 3 weeks...
Maybe less if the weather stays like this (85+ and parked in the sun while at school)

no, but honestly use your judgement. if your car is exceptionally dirty it won't hurt to wash it but if you just had it painted you shouldn't let it get that dirty. it's all common sense.
if you use carnuba wax or wax in general it seals the paint, best to let it breath. it has to cure obviously so leave it alone unless necessary. mild cleaners like a polish will be ok as well as wet sanding but it's best to let it go for a while til the paint has cured.
