1st Appearance Mod *Pics* Well, after much debate on which direction I wanted to go with the T/A I finally decided on keeping the stock hood and putting some graphics on it. I settled on a 2nd gen. hood bird in gold to match my interior.
Unfortunately, I am a very impatent person and decided that I should tackle this project on my own. Who would have known that putting this large a decal on a car would be this hard? It dosn't look too bad in the pic but I had to do lots of trimming and splice some of the lines to get the wrinkles out. The real test will come in the morning when the sun comes up.
I guess I'll probably order another one and have it professionally installed but this will have to do for now.

oh and did you use alot of water/soap solution to put it on?
My trick for doing vinyl (here at work) is to get the surface im applying to soaking wet, then spray the sticky side of the vinyl some, then lay it down on the surface, then soak the backin tape with the same solution. After that position it, let it sit for 5-10 minutes or so, and squeegie some of the solution out by hand, then use a squeegie and work at it, then let sit for another 10 min or so. Then dry with a towel, etc a little bit, then peal the backing off.......
time consuming for sure

Thanks for the comments guys....It looks ok in the sun but will have to be replaced. I used the soapy water but probably didn't use enough because it still bunched up on the compound curve near the top of the hood.
I have ordered another one and will try it again. I think I got in too much of a hurry and the end result shows it. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad but it could be much better.
