I say do it. I have G2 badges above my Z28 emblems on either fender and when people ask me what that means and what makes it a "G2", I tell them the car has plans for some parts but I really just like the looks of them, then again my car isn't stock so I think it's just fine. Do whatever makes you happy just don't lie to people if they ask what it really is!

Isn't having an SS badge on there the same as telling someone it's an SS? With that logic, it's ok to put 427 badges on there, just don't lie about it when they ask you. Is it posing? Yes, it is.

... IMO, of course.

Default Stop hating

I have an 02 Ca Highway Patrol which came with an SS engine (LS6 manifold, and an aluminum head). I have SS wheels, leather interior, SS spoiler, and hood. I have the SS emblems on it.

Why again is my car NOT an SS??? I have everything an SS came with and more. I have the SSP package that includes better suspension than an SS.

I would never tell anyone that he can’t have a POLICE INTERCEPTOR emblem. That’s bullshit.

To each is own. If it makes her happy, then so be it. SS drivers are just mad b/c they spent a grip on their cars and are probably still paying it.

Any SS owner that claims my car is not an SS, I challenge him to a race. I am pushing 345 horses and 370 torque. The only upgrade I have done is added longtubes.

I know a place where to get the emblems if you are interested.

Actually the engine is out of a Corvette, so why don't you put Corvette emblems on it.

Why not be proud of what you own, and not try to make is something it isn't ? . . .

I don't think your car is an SS.

Default It is too an SS.

What is my car missing? I have all the parts an ss has. Just because I built it instead of a GM factory should not be the detemining factor.

Not being able to upgrade to an SS is tantamount to saying you could never paint your car a different color.

When you graduate from law school and pass the bar, you are now a lawyer, right? Its called upgrading.

Do you owe stock in chevy or something?

I bet your still paying your car...

A valid SS build number and that little Y2Y option code on your door sticker. Thats what. It's a clone, not a real SS.

Default What a relief.

Wooooh, I am releived. If that is all that is missing, I am ok with that. You just made my point for me.

You say you are from in a 12 second club. But if your car was not built stock as a 12 second car, then your a clone.

If you are OK with being a 12 second clone, then I am Ok with being an SS clone. Do we have a deal?

If we dont, I will have to petition Chevy for a new vin muber and that other stuff on my door.

I say do it. I am planning on getting me a 97 black on black leather Z28/ss car for my second car ( first will be a camaro too, just older and high miles ) and I plan on getting a SS hood and wing, then Im gonna either get z/28 badges or SS badges for it, I dont see people asking me ' is it a real ss? ' but if they do i'll prolly say yes ( since im doing the suspension up better than a ss anyways....)

"Finetuned" the car involves what? I just put a Tornado on mine, but wouldn't call it "finetuned" by any means...

Before you do doing that...see the search button up top? Do a search on your problem and I'll bet you find your answer. It happens every now and again. I'm guessing you got water under your intake manifold and on the valley cover, where the knock sensors reside. Water on those = no no. They are somewhat protected, but not really under there.
