Default All I know

The truth, I am not totally sure. What I am sure about I paid 400 for it. It is supposed to improve accelaration and release restricted power in your vehicle. It is like a chip, but 50 times better becase you modify the computer in detail. You are supposed to get more horses as well. That is all I know.

Please help with creating a new posy

Oh, and I already gave you your answer. Dry everything out really well (all you'll have to do is run the engine up to normal operating temps so all of the water will evaporate). Then reset the PCM (do a search on here to find out how). This will turn off the SES light. If the code comes back, then you have a problem with one of your knock sensors, and it will need to be replaced. That means you'll have to remove your intake manifold to get to them. There is a great write-up on how to do that on www.ls1howto.com.

Before you go posting new stuff, just do some reading around on here. There is a lot of great information. It is readily apparent that you know little about your car. This site will help you cut through the bull and find out what you do/don't have, and what does/doesn't work.

Okay, so you got a somewhat "decent" tune (I won't say great, because I'm not a big fan of the dyno tuners out there with the current products available to the general public that will let you do a better job yourself).

You're right. I really dont know much.

I have a machine that turns off all codes. Could I just do that?

I dont know what "PCM" means or what "reset" means.

If the reason to reset is to turn off the code, then I could turn it off with my machine...

Please reply.

Just reset the code with your machine. See if it comes back. If it does, follow what I said above. ls1howto.com is the **** for a step-by-step process of how to remove the manifold.

First let me say that you can do whatever you would like with your car up until the point you try to make a financial gain by lying about the cars true identity. I have seen it way too many times where people will badge and buy the neccessary body parts and then sell it as something it is not from the factory. Selling it as a clone is one thing but saying it is something it is not is another.
In my opinion I dont see the fascination on badging a car as something it is not from the factory. Is the emblem that much nicer looking or the fact that you want people to think it is something that it really isnt? If it makes you sleep better at night then by all means, I am sure the SS guys are running out there doors right now to pull off their emblems and slap on some Z28 ones instead.

I would never tell anyone that he can’t have a POLICE INTERCEPTOR emblem. That’s bullshit.

To each is own. If it makes her happy, then so be it. SS drivers are just mad b/c they spent a grip on their cars and are probably still paying it.

Any SS owner that claims my car is not an SS, I challenge him to a race. I am pushing 345 horses and 370 torque. The only upgrade I have done is added longtubes.

I know a place where to get the emblems if you are interested.

your car may supposedly have better suspension than an ss,but it sure as hell isnt a real ss...u seem to have some issues towards real ss owners buddy , u should seek some professional help guy...if your ever in south texas i'd be more than glad to race u any day out of the week just let me know so that i can get the day off ....oh and by the way i paid $7,000 and it runs 12's stock...the only mods i have are in my sig

I dont agree with putting those emblems on. Perhaps your girlfriend really wants to do it, and sure your gonna do it regardless of what anyone has to say, but you have to remember, she got a z28, all the money your blowing on making the car into an SS, could have bought you the tittle to a real one. I feel that placing those badges on your car demeens the spirit and heritage of that car. Sure they are harmless badges, but to some people, including myself, it takes away from the exclusivness of owning one. I understand completely that people do what they want to their cars, but from my stand point i disagree. You, and people like you, just make real owners wonder why they spent extra money for something they thought was "LIMITED"

Sorry for rambling..
Mod you car all you want, steal the looks of the SS, but please dont steal the name.
