Default Custom CME ? PICS Posted

Came across this tip on Ebay and was wondering what some of u thought about making it work like the SLP CME tips that are on Camaros? I have the Factory ground effects on my Z and was going to cut a portion out like the CME lower bumper add on piece. Tell me what you guys think? I have all the needed tools to this, such as a welder and etc......

On a vette I believe it goes on the car as it is sitting in the 1st pics right? Well I thought I could install upside down as compared to the 1st pic so the top would be flat and go well with the portion of bumper I cut out.

They look kinda cool...wish they weren't spaced so far apart, but it would definitely stand out.

Seen these before, some people on here don't like them as much as SLP's version because they don't have the rolled lip.

They look like the SLP Vette tips, when you say you cut out a portion of your bumper you didnt really cut your rear bumper did you?

Its not the bumper, but the lower portion of the factory body kit. It would look kinda bad if I don't tuck the exhaust up some. Its is the factory body kit that came on alot of 1999-2000 Z28 I believe. I will show ya pic

Not sure how big it actually is, just an idea I had. I think it would be kinda cool, and different.

Here is a pic of what would be trimmed to fit the tip. The portion of body kit in the middle of course, so I can tuck the tip and exhaust up and hide some of the pipe. U know, kinda of like the piece they sell w/ the SLP CME. I thought about just ordering that bumper piece but i'm not affraid of cutting up that piece on mine. If it doesn't turn out, I will pull off the entire ground effects off, kinda want to anyway, or just order the damn SLP bumper piece.

I would get rid of that and put the SLP rear valence in. I don't think that body kit is from the factory IMHO.

It's a factory body kit. The name for it was the Sport Appearance Package (SAP) or otherwise known as the RS body kit.

Interesting, I'd still do the SLP rear valence as opposed to cutting his stock ground fx piece.

The end of your valance is not that wide. (vertically) You don't have enough space between the license plate down to cut and will probably hang too low, if not later, it will. Get SLP's valance and go that route. Looking at the pics, it looks as though those tips would be too wide for it.

Yes they are, and they look good. Had a buddy that move down to Vero Beach, that we used those tips on inplace of his factory CME. He had the factory CME valance on the car and got a shop to mold it in the center to contor the shape of the C5 tips better. IMO it looked BADASS! I wish I had some pictures to show off...
