Say what you want about SLP, but they were an integral part in the final chapter of the f-body history.

Granted they were essentially an appearance and supspension options, but they did put out some damn nice looking cars. The LS1 SS and Firehawk are arguably the best looking f-bodies ever produced. If I had known about the Firehawk back in June of 2000, I would have ordered an '01 Firehawk, but I hadn't even heard of ls1.com till a few weeks after buying my car.

I think it's pretty cool that they are offering some of their 'company' development stuff. If I had a SS or Firehawk, I'd be all over some of the promotional material.

I couldnt agree more. The people who are bashing Dave's auction, obviously don't know who he is and how much he played a part in the SS's and Firehawk. They just look like idiot ***'s for making such comments.

I guess it would be kind of cool to have a set of headlights that are prototypes that are 1 of 3. But on the subject of SLP i was finished with them after i saw MUSTANG parts in there catalog. I guess i was so pissed about that because my friend that has 3 mustangs was the person who broke the news to me. I can understand that since the f-bodys were discontinued they were going to have to focus on a different market but I thought that was just plain wrong. He even said himself a ford person that they were selling out, not me. I always thought SLP was strictly GM.

If they were a little bigger they would really add a supercar look to the TA insane price and its just a neato relic someone will snag.

i would definatly buy a set of those headlights for my T/A if they were around $500. ten grand is absurd, hell even a grand is would be steep.

I don't care if it's Harley Earl or Henry Ford selling them. $10K is ridiculous for headlights--even on a showcar. This isn't about who it is--it's about bad business sense.

And yeah, I do like the SLP SS's. But that doesn't mean I endorse everything SLP did (or does)...

I like the thing that says, "Makes a great gift!" LOL, ya a $10,000 gift and headlights at that, if I got it I would be mad I didn't get something else.

By no means was I endorsing the price of $10 grand for a pair of headlights. Obviously he has no intention of selling them, but like a couple people mentioned, it gets traffic for his other memorabilia.

LOL, that is digusting. It looks like it was added after the fact, otherwise I think someone might notice. But at first I was like, WTF!!! something is wrong with my computer, it's the only one showing this picture, nobody else's computer shows it.

This thread was resurrected from the dead and I do believe the pic was added after the fact...but I do apologize to all that it was not noticed sooner...it's gone now.

Guys look at one of the pictures he included on the auction page. It's a screen shot of a forum discussion. Like others said before he has no intention of actually selling these
