Thought the hood on the SLP Bird came down further than the OEM hood. Even if some one did fork up that much they wouldn't work without the hood. Right?
Still I wish some one would step up and make them. It looks as though SLP has the skill to. They should step up I'm sure they would make there money and then some back.

Well if they actually fit a car I'm sure someone would buy them, 10k is a lil steep for a pair of f'ing headlights. If they were like $1k, I'd say lets all pitch in, buy the pair and get a company to make replicas! But f' that!

It would be nice to have the only good set made in the world. I just can't get over how damned ugly that would look on a car.

I remember talking to Jeff Y (SLP Chief Engineer) about those when they came out. SLP made a huge miscalculation about how much it would cost to mass produce and test new lamps which is why they never made production. The scary part of that auction is, they probably have way more than $10,000 into those lamps.

I just couldnt see someone actually spending $10,000 on a set of headlamps that you can't even use, much less $10,000 even if you could.

You'd have to be an idiot to buy those for even 1/10th that price--especially given the attitude of the guy selling them! There isn't even a hood for them.

I looked at 'em just to see what we're all sticking this fool with by not buying. Over 700 views and no takers--imagine that!

Looks like the car is ready to fall asleep, or is a stoner.

I think he may have those for awhile!! I would rather build another motor for that kind of cash....427 maybe, at least a good down payment for it.

They are only listed there as an opener to his eBay store.
Yes, they were very costly to make, ..., & to not be able to use them hurts even worse.
He does have one of the matching hoods to go with them. But they are not for sale as a package. '98 Gold Formula' has a matching hood also.
(And where the hell's the 'Welcome to last week' smiley when ya need it?!?)

Actually one of the main concerns was that there were using a sealed beam inside of a plastic headlight enclosure, and this would never pass whatever safety standards they had to adhere to.

I was waiting for someone to realize that!

I'm sure they're listed with that astronomical price not because he's looking to sell those lights, but to gain attention from enthusiasts and alert them that he's now retailing parts online.

He's wanting us to look at his other auctions.
