How to: Front License plate removal
I would like to remove the front grill and license plate on my 99 Z28. After i unbolt the plate, there are three flat tri-star looking fastners that are holding on the LP holder. Anybody had experience with these? And, once i get it all off, whats under it?

You'll have to remove the whole bumper cover the get the grill off, or at least without damaging your paint. The grill is held on by three screws. The license plate bracket is prob just riveted on the grill. There is a post somewhere that says how to remove the bumper cover. Its pretty easy once youve done it once. Ill see if i can find it.

You do not have to remove the bumper cover to remove the grill. After the plate is removed. Just pull up one side of the grill and use steady pressure and PULL, the grill will pop off. Underneath there are 4/6 or so holes. There are some pictures on here of guys who run no grill and didn't fill the holes. I put on a billet grill and you can't see them unless your right up on it. It helps if you have a dark color car.

well you could just pull it off, but i tried that and it just wasnt happening. I didnt want to brake the grill or stretch the plastic, just incase i put it back on. I'm still not sure whether or not i like it. Maybe an Rk sport grill will make it look better cause it will plug the holes. Or you could plug the holes with body filler and paint it. Mine doesnt look all that great right now cause a board flew out of a truck and knocked a bunch of paint off my bumper. Thats part of the reason I took my grill off, so I can get the bumper repainted.

Depends on what state you live in. Don't worry about it and just leave it off.
