no one wants to race! :( the reason i put this in the appearance thread is that maybe people have better luck finding street racers if their z28/ss looks like a sleeper? my friend has an '04 GTO and he has people wanting to race him all the time. myself, i only have had a handful rev their engines up... are they scared of the z28??

car's exhaust is stock - although i was thinkin of improving it later on just for better sound.

Why would exhaust matter in getting races? Cause they are more afraid of louder/better sounding cars? I get people wanting to race me all the time. I let my dad drive it the other day while I was in the passenger seat, and everybody was racing him, like 6 people in an hour long drive. People in bigass audi's, and little 3 series BMW's, it was nuts!! I think its just where you live.

figured virginia beach wuld yield many stupids that wanna race me... then again, i guess i shuld actually take a drive in downtown va beach instead of just hampton (20mi. from va beach) either way, hampton's a pretty decent size place.
maybe its the sleeper mode that catches most ricers off-guard. i notice that many cars that wanna race my buddy's GTO are mainly v-6s, so maybe they just think a GTO has a smaller engine?

The pike which has gotten pretty gay as well. lol I know there's a few races on 384 sometimes on the weekend and those are pretty serious out there but they are rare right now due to the weather.

The best is when a ricey car club drove by. I chased after them and railed every single one of them. As soon as I turn around, some random kid in an eclipse pulls up at the light next to me and says "Hey, I wanna race you." That was the corniest thing I'd ever heard....Anyways, the light turns green, I launch and am half way down the street while he is half way through the intersection. I slowed down to laugh at him but he turned off REAL quick.

So are we going to go with sound over the sleeper look to not get races? I had a NBM V6 get on it last week from a light. I thought nothing of it until i heard a little bit of tires barking, so naturally I had to put him in his place. Didn't realize it was a V6 until a few miles down the road. Oh well.
If you do have, say slicks and skinnies while driving on the street, that can scare off some races. Sleepers can get you races with some mildly quick imports.

I never get anyone who wants to race It was even worse when I drove around on my fats and skinnies. It was slightly amusing when I would roll up next to someone and rev at them though. They would just look over and shake their head no lol

i live in chicago and jus recently purcahsed my ws6 right before winter, the little that i did drive i got some imports and 5.0 mustangs driving along side me, lookin at my hood, (blackbird stripes with 345 hp rating) (even though its stock right now, jus wanted to take care of the appearance first then switch to cutout lid 90/90 setup and blah blah blah in the end i'll change to 4xx hp with a bigger cam/head setup) ANYWAY, most jus look and thats it, . . i remember the first week, a car with 3 or 4 girls were smilin and waving, . . but when i drive my daily driver 96 3.8L firebird i get people revvin engines all the time, . . waitin for spring/summer soooooooooooo badly
