Default good product for scratches and swirls

I'm looking for a good product that I'm going to be able to see some excellent results from. My car is red and has a ton of fine scratches and swirl marks. I was told to buy some 3M hand glaze and it would do the job but what if it doesn't, this stuff is expensive so I really don't want to be buying expensive stuff if it doesn't work. I read somewhere Zaino has some pretty good stuff but I can't remember what. What are some products some of you have had good luck with?

I use multiple coats of Zaino. Just go to their website and browse their waxs. They're products are amazing.

to remove swirls etc you will want a machine polisher, you wont get it done by hand. see www.autopia.org ignore the zaino bandwagon, anything works good, its in the prep of the application not the product.

I couldnt agree more!!!

Untill you actually remove the scratches, your always going to have problems with them...

Get a Porter Cable polisher, some pads, and various rubbing compounds depending on your need. Once your paint is perfect.. then apply the wax to keep it that way.

Z-PC is the only product in Zaino's lineup that will remove scratches. I've never used it personally, but I hear good things.

I just did mine this weekend. The process:
1) Wash - Black Magic, two buckets (one clean water, one soapy), two wool mitts
2) Clay - ClayMagic with Meguiars QD spray for lube
3) Wash - Meguiar's Gold Class, two buckets, fresh wool mitt
4) Dry - Two large waffle weave MF towels
5) Menzerna Intensive Polish with orange Lake Country pad. Polisher set on 5. Wiped off excess with water and MF towel.
6) Menzerna Final Polish II with white Lake Country pad. Polisher set on 5. Wiped off excess with water and MF towel.
7) Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze with dry black Lake Country pad. Wiped off excess with MF towel.
8) Wiped down the whole car with one more clean MF towel to remove dust and any spots I didn't fully buff out.
9) Menzerna FMJ applied with MF applicator that was prepped with a little Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield. This is the ONE thing I've found these applicators to be good for! I have about 10 of them that I get with kits and they rarely get used.
10) Eagle One Wet on the tires applied with an applicator sponge.

Whole process took about 5 hours.

I use the same stuff as chup0kabra (minus the glaze) I like the Menzerna line, gives me a warmer shine (IMO) than the Zaino, and the polishes keep my black WS6 swirl free (that and a PC so I don't wear out my arms )

F.Y.I: Eagle One Nanowax doesn't remove any scratches. It's not that bad a wax, but it doesn't do what it claims.

anyone that thinks applying a product over scratches will remove them is crazy!

You have to smooth the clearcoat down with an abrasive material.. and no way you'll ever do it by hand.

It can surely be done by hand. It just requires much more time/effort.

This guy knows what he's talking about and uses the same combo I do. I just finish it all off with some Tropicare. Makes the Menzera FP really pop. I do this once a year since my car is garaged. Twice a year is good for a DD.
