Wow... you guys are so afraid of having your cars mistaken for rice, you have begun trashing hood pins. Hood pins began with old American muscle and somehow found their way into the hands of ricers.

I'm going to install some soon. Why?

1) The benefit of weight reduction
2) Custom front end set up
3) If done right, they look badass

Note: Wow, holy crap I did not realize how old this thread was.

i love em
i have a 4 or 5" inch pin on hood on my 93 z28 so i have to have them on it. 2 up front and 2 at the back.

my 04 cobra has them up front. plan on putting them on my 97 gt too. both bolt-on hoods.. 87 gt will have them too since its a pin on hood. all my cars will i guess.

they also sell stick-on hood pins on ebay if u didnt wanna drill holes thru your hood. they look real.

i like them in the front near the edges. like 5 inches from the edge.

too far to the middle looks weird to me.

i have pin on hoods on my 93 z28 and 87gt but once i get extra money i'm gonna buy bolt on hoods.. but still use hood pins..just in the front. the pin on hoods scare me. especially driving on the interstate 70/80 and seeing the hood lift up a little bit and move around. i always kept spungy cords in my trunk just in case i got too worried. i'd hook it to each fender to help hold the hood down. damn pin on's....

attach to rad support or make some brackets up for your situation on where you want to put them .

I bought Fireball's old hood, which he installed hood pins up front, but that's because he was trapping almost 180mph in the quarter and he felt it warranted hood pins up front. The hood is pewter, and I'm not sure if I want to have it repainted, even thought it's close, it's not perfect, but I haven't decided if I'm going to keep them after I get the hood repainted or not.
