yea, i bought some new headlights and was having trouble putting them in. I fixed the gap, i got a longer bolt and put a nut in between the brackets to push the headlight down more, worked pretty damn good. There isn't really a gap at all now.

are you trying to install the black headlights from procarparts? I just got them yesterday in the mail and am having the back of them painted. Once they get painted, I will attempt to install them. Where there many issues in installing them?

How does the longer bolt effect the headlight aiming? Do they point down too much?

Yea I got them from Pro Car parts. I wound up taking the stock brackets off the old headlights and re-using them. When I got my headlights back in to the correct position, there was a sizeable gap that needed to be filled. I used the one of the bolts that holds the lower air box assembly together as my longer bolt, and used a nut to put in between both brackets to bridge the gap. This in turn moved the headlight down. I can still adjust it the way I want. If you guys want, I can take pictures after the game of exactly what I did. The I used the old bracket bolt for the air box assembly. It doesn't go in as far, but it works, and its symmetrical with 1 on each side. Kinda a cheap way to do it, but I didn't want to go to the parts store. I will fix that later.

i'm going to take my stock brackets and attach them to the new lights, before I have them painted, then I'll try to install them back in the car.

****UPDATE****

I cut off the outside back tab on each bracket, now there is no gap between the headlight and body of the car. Headlights still aim perfectly. The tabs I am referring to are the ones that slide and kind of lock into place. Just break the outside ones off, not the inside ones, still need them for support and securement.

I installed the procarparts headlights on mine. just make sure you clean up any excess plastic (from the mold) from around the tabs, if there is any. that will allow the headlight assembly to slide all the way back into its proper position. no need to break any tabs off.

the lights went back into the proper position fine, the fitment was wrong. Travis, just pm me when you get your headlights done. When you take them off you will be able to clearly see the tabs I am talking about. The brackets use them to slide on and off the car.
