I wouldn't just go sticking in an HID bulb in your stock housings. I would get something like a casper's Shroud to put in with it or put some Projectors into your housings. Otherwise you will be blinding people with the glare from the lights.

Also 12,000 isn't brighter, it is just hotter and that isn't better THe only thing that changes there is the color of the light. THe brightest HID light is about a 4200K-5000K which is daylight levels.

The light output is really bad as it is more of a purple color and not as bright as you would want for a night driving light. I would go with an 8000K or 10,000K if you want some color in the light.

Bro if its 2x the light of halogen then that is a way better night driving light. Cause right now halogen is fine at night but an upgrade like this is better!!

I think you are missing my point, put projectors into it. Althought the actual Lumen ouput may be more than halogen, the purpleish red light will let you see the road like crap if they are in the stock housings and in addition you will blind people. Stuff like what you posted is for show cars looking to impress/blind passerbys. Get projectors if you go HID. And I'm not your bro.

if you want color go with the 10000k, but the kelvin level doesn't say how bright it is rather is is the color, go with a 5 or 6000k for brightness, but not to much is brighter than those bixenon beamer lights.

What is Caspers shroud and where do you get projectors that will fit inside the stock headlight?

eh, u might also wanna check state laws bout that,,, i know i know laws, ugh, but either way, some cops r dicks, and lets face it tickets suck especially for lights,,,, also those guys r right, u don't wanna drive around blinding people, hid kits r cool, but just scatter light everywhere, and just my opinion, i don't want the drunk, or sober guy comin towards me, well beiin blinded lol, that just don't make a good combo,, lol, my 2 cents

1) go to hidplanet and buy some projectors for $99 2) Buy a decent HID kit and not that crap off e-bay. McCullough, Blinglights.com, and HIDplanet all have worthy HID Kits that are equal in price and better in quality.

im geussing a caspers shroud is what lexus and other manufacturers use when not using projectors to make sure the beam is projected only on the top part of the headlight so it points more to the ground, my question is where can i get one?

OEM manufacturers always use projectors when it comes to HIDs. A Caspers shroud is an invention of teh import crowd to be able to put HID in stock Civic housings. I think they only make them for H4 bulbs though...

I still second Dirtybird on this one. If you want to do it, do it right.

lexus and acura do not use projectors. i agree projectors do look way better, but not everyone wants to blow 900 bucks to custom fab them in when you could just use the stock housing as long as you found a way to project the beam onto the top half of the headlight. look at any lexus, the beam is projected onto only the top half of the headlight, has something to do with a d2s bulb or something.. and maybe its just me because my eyes are really light sensitive but even the hid's with projectors are pretty blinding if they get up behind you.

Umm....all the new Acura TLs, RLs,TSXs, RSXs, and what not use projectors. If you are talking about the older models than no, but I find those to be more blinding than cars with projectors. If it is in the right type of reflector housing such as what the Escalade uses than it's not as bad. I bought my projectors for $99, D2S 3000k HID Kit for $300, Misc. parts to fab it will cost me around $100. Still $400 less than the $900 you mention to fab up something for projectors! But it all depends on how good you want everything to look, if you just want the HID look than just buy the HID kit.

Divergent Lightning didn't mean any offense, but watch how u talk to me on this thread. Right now I'm buying the hid kit, and i'll worry about the rest later. I'm going with the 8000k kit which I believe is better. All I wanted was opinions on the lights, either u like them or u don't. Not concerns about projectors, and stock housing crap (even though important) THXs for looking out though!!

I think that the 8000K is a better light. That is the type I have. Though putting those lights in your stock housings will blind people. Aim them down towards the groud as much as you can and hope the cops don't pull you over for blinding them. Lighting tickets can get really steep. Specially if they find that it was because of illegal use of HIDs. Any retrofit of HIDS into vehicles that did nor come stock with them is illegal. I would want to do it right and reduce my chances of getting a ticket/car impounded.

Oh, PLEASE don't get 12,000k or you're going to seriously regret it.

First off, it will really strain your eyes.

Second, you will be a cop magnet, guaranteed.

Third, it has "Ricer" written all over it.

You'll be much happier with 4100-6000k bulbs.

yea i meant the older models....forgot about the tsx and new tl after i typed that . didnt know you had projectors in your headlight...thought you just had hid's in the fog. and you must have got a great deal on those projectors because most of the tl ones and s2000 are around 300-400 for the projectors.
