Ill assume your polishing metal lol ... usually u just spin the buffing wheel against the rouge that u are using till alittle gets on it.

Its hard to tell sometimes that you have gotten any on it but u should see where it is missing from the rouge stick.

Its possible u might have to heat it up if your drill isn't able to turn the buffing wheel fast enough.

I use a buff wheel on a bench grinder and just touch the end of the rouge stick to it for a second or two and that does the trick perfectly.

If you want real advice that's to the point pm me and I'll give you my cell phone #. I've helped countless people here "get their bling on." I don't feel like typing a novel again. I can explain with better detail on the phone. -Joshua

What you said was dead on.(depending on the buff, not all apply so easily *example* single spiral sewn) I was going to ask what kind of buff (describe what it looks like) he may have something completely wrong for the process. I would then walk him through the Eastwood (sponsor) website and show him exactly what to get at the best price and give advice during the whole phone call.

No sweat bro. -Joshua

for smaller parts where you can't use a buffing wheel, just keep wetsanding to like 2000 grit.

Turn the drill as fast as it'll go. Usually you have to make due for the fist 45 seconds just to put some heat in the buff. Then when you touch the rouge for 2 seconds the heat and speed will just barely turn the buff blackish. Then you should be good for about 4x6 inches before touching the buff again. You need to go over the same area at 45 and 90 degree angles ending in the direction of the metal's natural grain. You'll need to go over it on several occasions (the same area) ending with a touch of your favorite paste polish (Mothers etc.- Mine is Simi-chrome.) Buy this waffle buff from Eastwood, I use it for rough all the way through final shine.

Firehawk#608, judging from the pics in your sig, I'd say that you might know a thing or two about polishing.

Modesty. After doing that much polishing you could probably write the book on it!
