I use a couple soft old toothbrushes..they work great, also after a wax when some is still hanging in around trim and stuff..... [ a good trick is squirt some detail crap on the brush to get it wet first ]

Toothpicks and/or popsicle sticks wrapped in microfiber towels work very well.

Old toothbrushes for me too. They not only work great on exterior lettering and seams, but they also work good for engine bay detailing.

My only complaint against toothbrushes is that they are nylon and that can scratch. I have a horse hair Meguiars brush (the one with an adjustable sleeve) that does an OK job on most spots, but the hairs aren't stiff enough to get into some of the cracks. That's when I break out the popsicle sticks and toothpicks, wrap them in a microfiber towel, and get to work.

By the time I'm ready to retire my toothbrushes, they're so soft they aren't going to scratch anything
