Default Mr. Clean Auto Dry. Junk?

I've been looking at these for a while, can't make up my mind wheter to risk $35 on it. I think my girlfriend is thinking about buying me one for my birthday, but I don't want her to waste her money. Anybody tried them yet?

dude in all truthfulness your better off just hand washing your car, the mr clean thing is alright, but it doesnt work all that great. and once it comes time to get new soap and water filters for it it doesnt become cost effective. a replacement fileter is like 10 or 12 bucks or something, and its good for 5 washes or something like that. but i have like one of the very first ones that came out, so maybe they have improved.

I always hand wash my car, but was hoping that it would be good enough for in between washes or if you get caught out in a shower. No major cleaning, but a quick way to clean it up a little.

its a nice system, use it on my black truck. saw a big difference in the water filteration. before regular water would dry fast on the truck and leave a lot of dirt behind. the mr clean filter does a good job of fixing that so i dont even have to dry by hand, that alone is worth it. also 35 bucks? i got mine for 17 or 18 at target and the replacement soap n filters are not that bad if u buy them online.

I have one, certainly saves time when washing your car ( i can do my whole t/a in about 15 min ) . The only thing i dont like is replacing the filter, and i heard if you use other soap besides the mr clean, it could clog it or something like that. All in all, i love it.

Yeah, they're only $18 @ WallyWorld. I just got one and it works great. Not sure if their soap is necessary, but the final rinse left no and I mean NO water spots. Even if it is a little more expensive, it is still worth not having to deal with spots.

If your water is very hard, the filter will only be last you a few times. The soup is weak and does clean very well. You will not have to hand dry your car though.

Not using their "special" soap does make a difference. I tried my normal Eagle One soap in it and when I used the filtered water to rinse it left spots and didn't dry as nicely as with their soap. I picked up more soap and another filter and it dried fine with no spots. It makes a HUGE difference for me as I have lots of lime in my water and if it's at all warm out it leaves tons of water spots that are very difficult to get off. If you wound up with oily residue on your car you didn't rinse it off good enough. The soap leaves a film to help with the sheeting action of the water and keep down water spots. If you don't rinse it off good enough it will leave residue. I ususally detail my car after a wash with my Eagle One Wet detail spray and a microfiber towel so it's spotless.

I use the cheap blue coral soap in it and put a little bit on a sponge. Its the best thing I've used on my black truck.

It works great.
It does work as advertised.
The water just sheets off.
Just be sure to use only their soap and filters in it.
Also....follow the instructions and rinse thuroughly.

Just like normal car washing, it works best in the sun on a warm day (just not an ultra hot day because things dry too quickly...again, just like normal washing).

I got the first generation one (blue) from BJ's (local wholesale club) for about $20 with extra stuff.

Mostly in the filter, it gets out minerals and other crap in the water and the soap helps with streaks etc......

I geuss if you had a water softener hooked up to your hose or somthing it would do the same as the auto dry...
