PLEASE HELP SOON - Will 94 T-tops fit a 00 SS
I found a set of T-tops off a 94 V6 camaro. Will they fit my 2000 SS? What about the head liner, plastic & trim. I am hoping to do the conversion and like the price of these parts. Also, am I stupid for trying this or will it turn out nice? Honestly I am a little scared....but I love T-tops and have always resented my hard top (especially in the summer)....Please help ASAP as I have to make this guy an offer soon. Thanks

when you cut up a car it's almost never going to look as good as it would factory... i say leave it... T's are nice, but they're not worth cutting up a factory hard top for.

I agree. It is an awful lot of work. You'd probably be better off selling your car and buying a car with T-tops. Unless you really know what you're doing it could turn out very badly and then trying to sell it would be nearly impossible. I'd say don't bother. Just my 2 cents.

What if I do all the 'hard' work myself and have a body shop make it look nice? My SS is kind of special to me and I don't think I will be able to sell it anyway (hard tops don't seem to sell).

Here she is if anyone cares. Crappy scanned photo but you get the point....clean car. I guess I'll stick to the hard top and maybe buy a C6 vert. some day. Thanks for the quick feedback.

I am not going through with it. I do prefer the looks of the hard top and it is a rare option. I just love the sun and wind in my hair, but I guess that's what verts are for (not the compromise of the T-tops). On the plus side, I do own a Sea Ray and she gives me all the wind in my hair that I can stand.
My compromise option is to buy a newer model Jeep with a hard top as a winter ride & take the top off in the summer. I lost my company car this winter and had to drive the SS in the snow (thanks to Michelen for making Pilot Alpin's). It broke my heart, but at least my wife didn't make me sell her for a 'practical' car

Really? The guy that I got my SS from said he had it on the market for 6 months and no one called. I guess the young punks in my area don't like hard tops. I picked up this car in 2001 with 11K miles for $18K out the door! The sticker was like $29,935 or something. I think I stole it myself. The good news was that the guy was like 45+ and didn't have any kids that were old enough to drive. The bad news was that the stupid A-hole took it through the car wash and put a crap load of swirl marks in it. I had it professionally rubbed-out but there are still some scratches. I am going to attempt to get them out better this summer!

I looked for a hardtop SS for months - but I wanted Sunset Orange. Never found one with an M6. I did find one NBM hardtop but it was rather beat.
When you are ready to sell, look me up. I will be selling my car in a few months to finish another project of mine.

Lesson for the day:
All T-tops will fit all years. However the 93-94 tops are not of the same smaoked glass on the 95+. The 93-94 tops have an undercoating (looks like a dot matrix) that was used to filter out some of the direct light.
If you bought 94 tops you would have the dot-matrix style. I prefer the clear 95+ style personally.
