You won't be able to polish it as it is just plain old cold rolled steel but I guess you could chrome it. I replaced mine with a custom stainless steel one that I made up and polished by hand. Has a softer look that the hard bright look of chrome IMO. Many people just end up painting the origional one a complimenting color to enhance their engine bays.

I have no idea what the sizes are. Hillco sells an "LS1" kit which had everything included.

polishing it..mighyt be a prob...but I did sand 400, 800...1500 and got a really good satin finish
then later did the same thing nto my STB..
the prob with polishit is that they use really cheap steel

Once again, I love the look of brushed or raw aluminum, very old school, but I cringe when I think of how it's going to oxidize if you don't keep it very dry and protected. Maybe a shot of some satin clearcoat would help in that area. Doesn't get real glossy and will still protect it.

One little tip for you, the radiator support of the car is not flat across so when you tightened the lower left and inner right mounting bolts of the FIPK sheild it got bent making a crease in the metal. You need to put washers under heat shield and "Shim" up the gap between it and the radiator support of the car to prevent this. Although it looks to be too late for yours I thought others reading this post might be able to prevent this bending distortion to thiers as it will be very noticalbe on a heat shield with a polished finish.
