Default Workin on my new hood. WS9 Outlaw (pics)

Its a U.S Exotics hood made by Rodger. I don't think he makes it any more. Anyways, I have a ton of prep I need to do before paint. See this thread.

AND HOW IT LOOKS NOW

I like the hood. Is your rear end sitting low? From the pictures it looks lower than the front. Maybe it's just me. Sweet car man.

I do think the rear is sagging a lil, but the slope of the driveway doesn't help the look. If I park the other way, the front looks damn low.

Thats for the kind words. Whats funny is when I finally get my rims in that I've been waiting for...the whole car will look like *** after being sanded down. I'm still gunna post the pics thought!!! I've been waiting like 2 months at least and I still got another month probably. They are Chrome Ruff Racing 278's. Look like knock offs of HRE 547R's.

Eh, i'll just copy what I wrote in my other thread.

"Its getting repainted the same color guys. Well, theirs plenty about the paint thats on there that bugs me....soooo, its getting a spectacuar show quality paint job that would cost at least 8 grand. I'm doing most of the labor and that I'm friends with the best painter in my area. It'll cost me at least 3 grand im sure."

Oh, and that fitment? Its ok. I played around with the body panels for a while and thats at good at its gunna get w/o touching the hood. So, I'm adding some fiberglass and resin here and there around the top by the edges so its perfect. That'll take a while.

i guess VFN isnt making them like roger did... i always hear about the perfect fitment from when he was making them, but then again he was making them one at a time and not mass producing.

should look sweet as hell when its all said and done though, your car will be right up there with the other LMB looking t/a with the ghost flames and HRE's

That'd be awesome. I've been shooting for the pride of the top elite car's on this site. I am not rich, but I have some serious plans for the engine/bay and the interior. All tastefully done that is. In due time, i'm still young.

That hood is one of rogers..... VFN's hoods do fit well and are also made one at a time. I've been there, fit a few hoods and have seen the process.

oh ok... thats good to know... i was thinking the quality would decrease after selling the mold to VFN to start producing, as they make all types of hoods, rather than specializing in just one. at least they are keeping the us exotics quality around.

My VFN fit real good after a days work of adjusting the panels. I must say, the quality was excellent. Their was no bubbles or waves in the gel coat. I can't say the same for my new hood. Although, the VFN hood was a lot weaker. Basically, most of the top of the hood was thin and I could push it in really easy. It was still a rigid hood, just not the top. Now, my WS9 hood is solid as a rock and it weighs about the same. Its better built, just needs a ton more prep.

I feel your pain on the gel coat issues. I bought a slp h.o. hood and had the same issues. Luckily my body guy new what to expect. He set it out in the sun for about a week and just let it pop away. He had me come to look at it and for what i payed for it i was not to happy. Although it is gonna cost me more i am glad he knew to do this and did not just try and paint it because my car is black and I know it would pop up with that color.
