Default Stripes for my hugger orange Z28

I cant decide on what to do with my car. I want to do stipes but not sure how they would look on a hugger orange car. I cant find any hugger orange z28's with black stipes. I was even thinking of getting an ss hood and doing black 35th ann. stripes. please post some suggestions.

Either black or white stripes. Silver might look OK as well. Since the HO cars are fairly rare you don't see a lot of them with stripes on them.

Check that place out should give you some good ideas on what you want to do.

IMO stripes just don't look right unless you have an SS hood

I'd say get an SS hood first, then decide what you want to do.

An SS hood helps the appearance so much and you may find afterwards that you no longer even want stripes. If you still do, it will look so much better on the SS hood, plus you have more options.

You could do any of the following:
-Manta hood scoop
-New manta hood scoop (just outlined edges)
-35th SS-style decal in front of the scoop
-Normal 35th style stripes around the scoop

Pretty much any of those would look good. Personally, I think I'd go with white or maybe even change it up and go silver. Silver would look great. I think black would just darken the car too much and dull it down. Hugger orange is a great color, and although black looks amazing as an accent on it, too much of it (stripes) wouldn't look good IMO.

Silver on Orange=YUCK

SS hood with black 30th stripes would look good. What color is your interior?

IMO please don't get an SS hood if you have a "Z"

Why not? Nothing wrong with it unless you go around badging it as an SS.

Some of the best-looking Z's all have SS hoods:

The Speed Inc turbo Z, 01pewter2001Z28 on here, Stangkilr's old silver Z (now belongs to RedWS6Rocket), the 302 Z28, LS1 SS's dad's pewter Z, etc. And the best-looking TA on the forum (Silver02TA) isn't even a real WS6, it's just a TA with a hood.

I would recommend a 3" cowl induction hood or sunoco hood, the SS hood is what everyone gets. Not that the SS hood isnt a great hood just everyone has it and a Cowl induction hood would set you apart from most, or if you like the SS hood design you could try the new 3" SS hood.

The interior is charcol grey and I am not sure if i want the ss hood because that is what everyone does get. The hood is what is stalling me. I am not sure what hood to get. I dont really like how cowls look on the 98-02 camaros. I think they only look good on 93-97. if anyone has pics of there hugger orange z's please post em so i can see how it looks. thanks

I think that as long as you get a hood with some contour to it, it will look great. Not necessarily an SS hood, but maybe a cowl of some sort. I put the Berger/SS stripes on my SS (it's pewter with the black stripes), and I get tons of compliments. I would think the white would look perfect with the Hugger Orange, like on the 1st gen. cars. My product came from 3rdgendecals.com, and they are excellent quality. The pewter car on the site looks identical to mine, stripes and all.

Here is an orange Z with a 4in Harwood cowl hood with Black stripes. I think it looks pretty good.

Sorry, but in my opinion, that looks like complete ****. Not the hood itself, just the fact that he used SS stripes on a cowl hood and it threw the fitment WAY off. They come almost to a point on the nose and have the massive gap in the middle where the SS scoop is supposed to go.

I have been saving pictures over the years. Here are a bunch from my collection ( I hope none of the owners mind I posted these). These should give you an idea of different stripes on the Orange car.

Not 4th gen, but correct color scheme:

Not Orange, but I liked the stripes.

Custom design.

These are the Berger style stripes

If you've got black interior, keep the stripe color dark to flow if you happen to show w/ the doors/windows open. That, and I really dont personally care for white on orange (if it were orange on white, then thats different). Black or a deep gray would work perfectly. You can tie in the rims w/ that theme aswell and make the outside have a complete flow to it.
