Default removing grill and...

So i want my front bumper to look a little nicer and different than the stock one. I was considering the following options: (by the way my car is pewter with black headlight covers)

1) Pull off stock grill, get black inserts for the camaro embossment, and get a black mesh grill to fill the gaps.

2) Pull off stock grill and get a billet grill and paint it black (or buy a black billet), and put the old school z28 symbol right in the center.

What do you guys think i should do? Any other suggestions?

Thanks - Chris

o and where can i get those inserts for the front? i have seen them but cant find them anywhere.

No, you have to fill them in and smooth/paint 'em. Even if someone did make some sort of pop-in filler, it'd look like ****. Smooth/paint is the only way to go IMO if you dont do an aftermarket grille.

Ive considered the same thing, if I dont actually install my SLP SS grille. Painting and filling in the holes pewter, then painting the Camaro and openings black (similar to how a Wings West grille would look) then putting in some black/stainless mesh.

But being Ive already got the SLP grille, I'll probably just put that on lol.

Im going to be getting those wholes filled and painted, painting the camaro letters black, and adding black mesh grill to the sides of my white 98. I think it looks clean on lighter cars.

Definitely option #2. Don't forget to paint the area behind black, too.

I was in the same boat you are in up until last week. I debated for over 2 years about which grill to get. I ended up getting the SLP Grill due to the fact that pewter is easily seen through the billet grill. If you go with billet, be sure to paint the center part of the bumper that is behind the grill black so you can't see it as easily. Here is the link to the post I started shortly after I got my grill installed. Not trying to highjack, just helping out.

Its just mesh that people have bought and made work. Some people have used "Gutter Gaurd" which is available at Home Depot. It you want the mesh black instead of silver...paint it. Some aftermarket grills also come with the mesh pre-installed.
