I've used Sonus and Zaino.

Sonus sucks the big one, too damn stiff. It does pull off a little more than the zaino though. Zaino is a little soft also, but I much rather use the Zaino

I've used Zaino, Mother's and ClayMagic. They all performed equally well.

agree .. they are all made by the same company, anyway ..

just make sure you use lots of lube, work with only a cool surface, and DON'T drop the clay bar ..

Meguiars or Mothers, both can be found at local stores.

Be sure to wrap it in a plastic bag afterwards.

I'd have to dissagree, I've used all three and prefer Claymagic. Mothers and Zaino are too soft IMO, and leave clay all over the car unless your really careful. Plus since they're so soft they get stuck to your fingers easier, where Claymagic is not as soft and doesn't suffer the problem as easily.

That's fine and dandy, but you can't buy claymagic at any auto parts stores here (that I have seen). I stick to Meguiar's because its readily available. I'm not going to pay to ship a damn claybar.

I felt the same way, and went away from Clay Magic because of the very same reason.

Now it's sold at Auto Zone, and it's all I use.

What works awesome for keeping your clay covered is a soap bar cover.

I bought the Mother's package that came with some spray, and the spray sucked. Just use soap+water with the bar. The stuff they sell is supposed to wipe clear w/o washing the car after you've barred it, but that crap left a layer of film that was a pain to get off. The bar stuck to my hands, but to me thats good because I tend to drop only things that I should not drop.

Claybars are supposed to take off water spots, can't say I've had that problem myself though. For a few $ it couldn't hurt, and even if it didn't get all the water spots you're finish will still be nicer.

One thing that works nice w/ clay bar is using quick detailer by meguiars instead of using soap&water. Keeps the bar moving nicely and when it comes time to get the clay off, its as easy as heck. Just thought I'd add that tip. Enjoy

I use 3M, you can't go wrong with any of their products. It's kinda pricey, $30 at O'Reilly's, but it comes in a little tub to keep it in.
