Mecham makes a spoiler that is bigger than the SS and looks similar. It's just under 400 bucks but i've heard of alot of people having problems with fitment and quality from them as far as body pieces go.

Here are the pics off their site.

And here is a link to the page selling it.
mechamperformance.com

Hope that helped.

I like the cleaner look without the center supports.

I prefer the original SS over that one, I like how the two teeth give it a more aggressive look.

I like my stock SS spoiler too. But the Z29R spoiler i believe is the one he was asking about. I think the stock SS spoiler is just tall enough.

Yeah it definately need those two pillars in the middle. It looks, almost...naked without em.

It cost more like $450 and the quality was very good. I did have to do some work on it to make it fit perfect:

I was just going by the price on the page which was 385...I'm sure shipping etc and painting bring it up some. Looks good on your car. The no pillar look is straight from the LT1 style SS's.

Except Mecham uses the 98-02 SS third brake light whereas the '96-'97 SS spoiler uses the Z28 style third brake light. Not a big fan:

I was just saying it's similar in the no post look. I like the LS1 ss spoiler the most but i dont mind the mecham spoiler that much, need to see it in person.

i say the z/29 spoiler sure beats the **** out of the stock z/29 spoiler and probably will be purchasing one by the end of the year.... can't go with an "SS" spoiler without the car being a true "SS" (even though i like it better)
