So who can help me get a LOAD of tar off of my car?
So I was parked in a stone parking lot where I work. A tar truck was repaving the road and cut through the parking lot. Long story short they didnt have a top on the truck. They hit a pothole and tar splattered ALLL over my car. It goes from the very back over the windows, the sides and even onto the hood and front rims. The spots range from the size roughly of a dime to a quarter. There are maybe a hundred or two hundred individual specs. I'd like to kill the tar company Anyways any advice would be appreciated.

u know what i just recently found that works very well? Spray Nine does an amazing job on removing that stuff. I have used everything from lighter fluid to claybar to gasoline to soap to carb cleaner. i found nothing that works better than Spray Nine on thick deposits! give that a try!

Belive it or not.... try Turtle Wax ICE. It is a wax... but it will probally remove the tar. I had some of that black windshield stuff on a car... the ICE took it right off!!!!!!!!

Goof Off is VERY hard on the paint and if you use it enough it will eat at the paint. I've used it trying to get left over adheasive off a vehicle that I was planning on painting anyways. If you like your paint, go buy some automotive paint prep wax and grease remover. It will remove all the garbage and not harm your paint. You'll of course need to rewax afterwards since it strips it all off but doesn't damage the paint. I used it on a friends car before putting ground effects on it and the tar and junk wiped off with ease.

well I went and tried a claybar, and some turtle wax tar remover with a special sponge, no luck... any other suggestions?? I may try the wd40 and duck tape tomorrow, but let's just say that Im less than confident that it will work. I may wind up in jail for killing the tar company anyways
