Default Painted my bumper in my backyard *pics*

I got a quote to re-paint my front bumper for ~$400. After a little research I found that I could buy everything I needed to do it myself for the same price... plus now I have all of my own equipment.

Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. But considering I had never picked up a paint gun before... it aint bad!!!

Time:
3 hrs sanding
3 hrs painting
3 hrs wet sanding/buffing

I did it in my backyard under our carport, and wrapped plastic around it to give at least some protection from bugs etc. I'm located in Wills Point (close to Canton TX).

I used PPG paint from the local paint store (local meaning Tyler lol). They begin by getting the paint code from your car, and then use a special machine to test the paint from your car to account for color fade so that the color comes out perfect. All in all just the primer/paint/clear cost $175... but I used the best paint they had. I could have cut that in half using lower grade economy PPG.

I bought an inexpensive set of 3 guns at the paint store (1 for primer, color, and clear) for ~$100.

Also, I'm open to helping out other members. Send me a PM. I am treating this as a hobby more than anything else.

Thanks for the comments!

That looks great for a first-time painter, plus now you have the satisfaction of knowing you did the work yourself instead of paying someone else to do it
