Hit a @#$ deer. Need ideas for a new hood, help guys!
well last nite i had an unfortunate accident with a deer. hood went through the windshield, etc.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/midwestern-members/590364-i-won-t-making-ls1-shootout-now-car-got-crashed.html For pics and details. sucks.
anyway, Hacker Joe and I will be starting to plan the car's comeback here when I drop it off tomorrow nite. first decision that needs to be made is what hood. I know I want to try something different, the only reason this car has a glasstek 4" cowl on it was 5 years ago when I got the hood it was either that or a SS hood lol. now I know there's a million awesome hoods.
only thing i don't want is a pin on. i know they are badass and light but i'm too afraid of an engine fire at the line and not being able to get to it fast enough. at least that's my rational anyway, any input is welcome from guys who have them.
i'd really appreciate everyone's input:
1--A pic please
2--who makes the thing
3--Price and where I can buy it.
i have two visions for the car in my mind at this point. either more sleek and styled, or pretty much go sick and wicked race car look. not sure until i start picturing stuff.
will still be flames of course, and the same colors used I believe, but really there is much to talk about between Joe and I, and in my mind the hood will be the determining factor to the direction of the car.
Thanks in advance everyone, much appreciated.

2.) VFN - VFNFiberglass.com
3.) $550.00
Check out their website. There's two pictures of my LS1 there and one of my LT1.

I think cowl hoods are so bad *** with flames. Mine is a 2" vfn, I was going to go 4", but now I'm glad I didn't... This one is clean looking and I can see over it. I don't think I would have ever made it with the 4".lol

Why don't you get with Glasstek, VFN, or somebody and get something truly custom made? If you're going to go all out, why not try that route? Your car has always gotten a fair amount of exposure. I'd do something one off, and a trick *** paint job, something that hasn't already been done. Maybe something tribal or a sweet candy/pearl solid color a mile deep.
