I found a pic of the firbird hood for 98-02, but it's nothing great.
I would definitely paint your hood, but I'd do a ghost flame setup that the flames ended up being the carbon fiber. I think that would look pretty cool, epsecially since the car is black.
I would also get rid of the hood pins, unless they are absolutely neccessary.

I work for the company you found that picture on. That's actually a civic hood. I'll see if I can track down the one you're looking for.
