Go with the rubberized undercoating. Cheap enough that when it dulls out in 6-8 months you can just apply another coat. It made my wheel wells look 10 times better. I used the stuff from my dealership, it comes in a quart jug and you use a spray gun with shop air(pretty technical name i know) to apply it. I had enough to do each wheel well twice and a good portion of the underside of my car. I havn't used the 3M aerosol but I think its pretty cheap. I sprayed overtop the plastic fenderwells and everything. When I wash, I just run my mit on the inside of the wells to scrub the dust off(gravel road ). Then I take some foaming tire shine and coat the wells. After it drys they look amazing and there is no dull black look like you have now. Plus when the wheel wells are all black it doesn't take away from whatever wheels you have and makes them look better too.

I never thought of that! Good idea!
