Default WW air dam paint questions

At last I got the ww air dam for my TA.
Someone said I need a special paint that will flex's as the air dam is so bendy, that sound right?
Also is there a particular shade of black for the TA, I know there are different shades of black?

Cheers

your paint code is on the door sticker usually on drivers side door. (sticker on inside of door when you open it)

paint will felx. From the factory our fenders and bumper are plastic so whatever works on them, will work on your ww air dam. If you plan on molding the lip to your bumper(very veryhighly recomended!!!!) then you have to use special body filler and some stuff called kitty hair to mold it but unless your going to mold it on yourself, you dont need to worry about it. If you decide to mold it and have abody shop do it, theyll have all ther stuff. Regular body filler will crack when pressure to bend is applied but kitty hair is a bunch of chopped up fiberglass blanket so theres nothing holding it together so it can therefor flex

i had bought my Wings West air dam from a member from here and it came shipped in a small box, i took it to a local paint shop and they said i need a new one because it is all "bent", . . is this true? or does it take it's shape again? sorry to hijack your thread but to answer your thread, yes, i've heard of some kind of "agent" for this, . . . when i recieved my used air dam, it didn't have this special paint and it had spider web cracks all over it, . . .

Thanks for your replys.
I would like to have it molded on. I guess that means having the whole front bumper removed and prepped for painting. I wouldn't even think of doing it myself, but I think I may have it done. Any idea what the special filler is called that goes with the kitty hair? Wanna make sure they don't f?*! it up.

any body shop should know what theyr doing. You can go to a local auto paint supplier and tell them you want to mold a plastic ground effcts lip to a stock plastic bumper and ask which body filler they recomend. Kitty hair is the body filler i think. Ive never done this but have seen it done i only wish i paid more attention. But if your having it done at a shop, just take it somewhere thats done it before. take it to an imprt place if you have to becuase they do it a lot and all of those japanese cars are plastic like ours. Where do you live?

Yea, that's what I'll do. I just want to make sure they do it right first time. I live in England BTW.
