Honestly the CAI look like dookie. You're better off doing the FRA and shaving off the lid baffles.

+28 on the removing of the air "thing". lid and free ram air setup and a raised air box ought to work alot better than what you've got there. But overall the car looks in great shape.

Car looks to be in pretty good shape. I don't blame you for using what you have around to do a quick mod on the car. IMO, I think you should get a lid and bellow for the car asap. It will cean up the engine bay a little. Where in SC are you located?

Sounds like you're doing some great things to the car (Sunoco hood, RK Sport spoiler, etc...) but PLEASE take everyone's advice about your CAI...

Yes, it looks bad but to each his own... The main thing is YOU WILL HYDROLOCK YOUR MOTOR!!!

MANY LS1's have hydrolocked over just a FTRA (it has a scoop HIGHER UP than your filter that goes to the stock filter) let alone a cone near the ground as yours is... A little puddle and your motor will seriously be toast...

Are you going to delete the EGR? Otherwise I agree on getting a new lid. The car is coming along nicely.

you're not going to see ANY better results with that "thing" you made for your air intake. Who cares if its free.. it looks horrible and not to mention that filter is too small for the engine size and way too dirty.

Im sure I can get a free "Type R" wing from an Integra at the junk yard.. doesnt mean im going to put it on my F-body...

do this... do a search for "Cold Air Intake" on this site or ANY LS1 related site.. and I guaranty you will NOT find any intakes like yours at all. (and there is a reason for that)

I like the idea of your CAI..It does need..."Refinement" to look good....not sure Id have taken it down so low...gotta be careful with puddles

But hey Bravo for DIY'ing it!
