Default My unbiased Bitviper antenna review...

Well, my girlfriend wanted to buy me a present for my car and the only thing I could think of that didn't cost $300+ was the BitViper shorty antenna. I'll go through the different aspects of it with my ratings:

Shipment:
Even in the middle of Christmas rush and apparently the flu for BitViper, it came relatively fast.

9 out of 10

Installation:
Not sure what you're expecting here... screw in... it took maybe 2 minutes.

10 out of 10

Styling:
Before I bought the BitViper antenna the stock one didn't bother me "too" much. I didn't like it, but it wasn't on the top of my priority list to change. After putting on the shorty I realized how much of an improvement it actually is. I didn't get the "full affect" from the pictures online; its a huge improvement over the remote-control car antenna the general gave us from the factory. (I'll post some pictures up later if I can find a camera around here.)

9.5 out of 10

Performance:
Well the antenna got tested more thoroughly than even I expected; the day after it was on it rained buckets. I was in town the whole time and there was no loss in reception, and after I got it back in the garage and unscrewed/checked everywhere there was no leakage under or around the base.
Then today, I drove back to the dorms after Christmas with the folks so I got to test it on the highway. I've drove the way many times and know the "relative" area where stations cut in and out. The antenna performed easily on the same level as stock, but I did not notice any significant improvement over stock.
Also, on a side note, it can handle high mph

9.5 out of 10

I did start to feel unsafe with it on the car out in parking lots where I would leave it unattended for long amounts of time. But I guess I'm a little paranoid... at any rate, I'd just unscrew it and throw it in the back just in case.

Overall, this product, simply put, is awesome. Built well, by a great seller and looks bad ***. For the price, I strongly recommend anyone with the stock antenna to pick one up.

Thanks again BitViper!

I hate the look of my huge mechanical antenna on the vette. How tough is it to disable the thing and put in the BitViper antenna? and price?

i believe if u have a motor antenna u have to find a stationary antenna bracket (could probably get one off of a junk yard camaro pretty easily), but im not 100% on that... if anyone else can chime in

Exactly correct..youll need a Camaro base or a base with a mount that will accomodate 1.0 mm threading

My power antenna is just flat out broken, doesn't go up or anything. Could I do it using the base I have now?

Haha so I wasn't the only one who gets paranoid about it not being there when I come back. But it's still there and I haven't removed it.

Great review for a great antenna

How about if I found a way to put in a set screw..that could be locktight'ed in place...cant use lock tight on the threads cuz it would interfere with the electrical connection

My car is the red Camaro pictured above, I love this antenna as well, it was easy to install, I have had no reception problems at all, and well just look at it it is a huge improvement appearance wise. Well worth the money spent to get it.

Here are a couple pics of my "BitViper" Antenna. Very easy to install and no noticable change in radio reception.

I have the same feelings about mine. I love it. Reception is great and the looks are killer over the stocker.
