Default Project Resurrection!

I know in advance this detail is gonna kick my butt. I'm devoting at least 3 days to it.

The car is a 2000 TA owned by my uncle and he is about to sell it. He has washed it before, but I don't think he EVER cleaned the brake dust off the wheels. They are the toughest baked on brake dust i've ever come across. Had to bust out the most extreme stuff to polish it off.

I'm going to be doing 2-3 passes on the car with the PC and then 2 coats of Zaino.

Here is where i'm starting from: EEK!

The horrible wheels:

AFTER cleaning them!

After an hour of polishing: (still need to get the stuff in the corners)

Removed some oxidation with a little ScratchX just for kicks. (will re-buff later)

I should be done with it by sunday and have pics on monday hopefully.

here is some pics from today. Did a little on the inside and i finished the wheels. Altogether, it took nearly 8 hours for all the wheels.

Oh, and this stuff that looks like loose dirt, is not actually. So no, i didn't toss some dirt on it to make it look worse LOL. Its some kind of pollen or something that is bonded to the surface. Gonna take a lot of work to remove it.

I would say 10k is decent. Not a good deal or a bad deal. And i know your cleaning it up real nice but the fact that it wasnt really taking care of throughout its life is a big negative.

Worth $10,000 if it's MINT... What would it sell for? $7500 low-ball and I wouldn't see someone paying more than $9000... Mileage is a little high for that year.

If it were a 6-Speed with at least the grey interior I would pay about $8500 for it on the high end and that's if I hadn't seen the before pics .

From what I've seen on Auto Trader and Ebay if you add a painted WS6 hood to it (set you back about $1000 total) you could probably sell it for full KBB which is close to $11,000.

SO, if you're getting lowball offers on it you might want to consider it...

I mean that honestly wouldn't disuade me (I bought this car with 120K on the clock)... For me it's personal preference of interior color and tranny.

IMO the 2nd biggest factor of a car purchase is mileage. Condition inside and out being #1.
