fire extinguishers
Nitrous Oxide is not flammable, it's an oxidizer. What that means is it supplies more oxygen to an existing fire, in a nutshell it makes a small fire REALLY BIG!
A nitrous tank, like any compressed gas tank can explode if heated sufficiently, such as sitting over a burning gasoline tank This is called a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion). This will pretty much look like a car bomb explosion. A fire in a car with nitrous is not a fun thing to respond to. As far as an extinguisher, I keep mine on the floor behind the drivers seat.

They don't blow up. They have burst discs for when it gets above 3000psi to "spew" out the nozzle.
Retard # 4 teching in. I have a little 2lb extinguisher rolling around under the back of the passenger seat. It never hurts to have a little bit of extra added security. I would never put my life in the hands of a silly car but if a minimal fire started I would rather sit on top of the damn thing then watch all my hard work go up in flames.

Some of you people are completely fu**ing retarded... There is absolutely NO reason to have any kind of fire extiguishing device in a street car. And if you think you need one, YOU SHOULDNT BE DRIVING YOUR FU**ING CAR! If your car is on fire, I would hope most of you would have enough sense to save yourself from being burnt, not trying to save your car which is (should be) insured! Why would your car catch fire? Did you TRY to install your NAWWWS yourself and fu**ed it all up? DId you TRY to wire up some cool switches that might short because you dont know how to do electrical work? Unless youre running lower than a 10 at the track, having a fire suppression system in your car is just stupid overkill. Its you saying to everyone ," yoo, my car is soooo fast that the "race" fuel in there can be dangerous, So I got this mad cool custom fire extiguisher mounted on the PASSENGER side in front of the seat where I CAN'T reach it."
everything in your post leads me to believe 1) your not aloud out in public without a securly fastened helmet, and 2) there should be an age limit for internet access
why would you post up about something you obviously know nothing about
I'm putting one in my car at the same time as my next mod... which will either be nitrous or s/c !!
and even if neither mod happened i would still like to have one around as a "just incase" ... it could never hurt a situation

i have one in my truck too.. and its just a $200 POS S10.
people that carry real fire extinguishers are real car guys that learn from past experiences.
people that carry nothing, will someday wish they had something.

If not it could hurt you pretty bad in a crash and may not pass tech depending on how much the track cares about teching if you drag race.
