A nitrous tank, like any compressed gas tank can explode if heated sufficiently, such as sitting over a burning gasoline tank This is called a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion). This will pretty much look like a car bomb explosion. A fire in a car with nitrous is not a fun thing to respond to. As far as an extinguisher, I keep mine on the floor behind the drivers seat.

They don't blow up. They have burst discs for when it gets above 3000psi to "spew" out the nozzle.

Retard # 4 teching in. I have a little 2lb extinguisher rolling around under the back of the passenger seat. It never hurts to have a little bit of extra added security. I would never put my life in the hands of a silly car but if a minimal fire started I would rather sit on top of the damn thing then watch all my hard work go up in flames.

I've seen a few burn on the side of the road. I guess if you like your car it's cheap insurance.

why would you post up about something you obviously know nothing about

I'm putting one in my car at the same time as my next mod... which will either be nitrous or s/c !!
and even if neither mod happened i would still like to have one around as a "just incase" ... it could never hurt a situation

people that carry chrome stupidly small minibottles are idiots.

people that carry real fire extinguishers are real car guys that learn from past experiences.

people that carry nothing, will someday wish they had something.

You are going to use something besides velcro to mount it to the floor right?
If not it could hurt you pretty bad in a crash and may not pass tech depending on how much the track cares about teching if you drag race.
