Keep it out of sight but close enough to reach. Everytime I see one mounted on the A-pillar I just want to slap somebody. The driveshaft hump between the rear seats would be a decent place and easy to reach if needed.

Ok having a fire extinguisher is not rice at all, its caring for your car. I've been wanting to put one in my car for awhile since i put the nitrous on just in case of a nitrous explosion and something was to catch on fire. I would hate to see my car just burning and theres not **** i can do about it.

I would really like to put an extinguisher in my car I would hate to watch it burn to the ground and be totally helpless. Are those small ones (like you see mounted on the A pillars) even very useful ?
I would like to see where people have them mounted.

It should not expode unless it his heated to a high temp and that should take a while, by that time the pressure cap should blow off and by that time if you have not got it out your car is probley toast anyway. the nos should also be vented to the outside of the car so that if the cylinder blows the pressure cap it will go outside. if not it is kind of like taking an air compresser and spraying air on the fire. it would put it out unless there is fuel and in that case the air blowing on the fire would help the fire.
however I do believe a fire extingquisher is a good idea but the Fast and the Furious makes it look like the car would just explode because of the "nauzz", its just Hollywood making it more exiting to the viewer

nitrous is not flamable but it will make any fire that is burning burn faster and bigger.
i would just stick it on the floor infront of the pass seat.
and for the guy who said rice....i noticed your sig says 2 small oil leaks. when those catch fire and you dont have anything to put it out cause its "rice" have fun with a melted trans am

Just a little FYI.
Nitrous Oxide is not flammable, it's an oxidizer. What that means is it supplies more oxygen to an existing fire, in a nutshell it makes a small fire REALLY BIG!
A nitrous tank, like any compressed gas tank can explode if heated sufficiently, such as sitting over a burning gasoline tank This is called a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion). This will pretty much look like a car bomb explosion. A fire in a car with nitrous is not a fun thing to respond to. As far as an extinguisher, I keep mine on the floor behind the drivers seat.
