lt1 ss hoods!?!
What kind of aftermarket ss hoods are you guys putting on your LT1's? What is an average price? Are there any brands I should stay away from? Post as many pictures as you can. All input helps!

I love them too! I know it won't be a true ss but it will still look better than what it does now. Any brands i should stay away from? I saw a hawks third gen ss hood on ebay for $475 plus shipping. How are they for fitment?

Looks like you have a Cayenne Red Metallic Z. Nice choice, but I might be a little bit biased.
Mine is from DGMotorsports. Fitment was great, and I like that it is flatter and wider than the SS hoods. Looks a little more intimidating, to me at least!

well you lucked out cause the quality of my DGM hood sucked!!! it needed sooo much work to fix it and get it bolted up to my car. had a good body shop, but will never buy from them ever again.

I have the american sportscar design hood for 97 ss, compared to the original its close, the biggest difference is the lip right over the headlight was thicker, fitment is great but, as with any aftermarket fiberglass there was some work nothing major.

In that case maybe I will just stick with the stock hood for now. I was hoping I could find a cheaper ss hood to put on before I get it painted but for that price, I could probably better spend the money on performance. Does anyone have any pictures of their hoods?

I lucked out got an original SS hood off of ebay exact same color as my car few nicks and such but hey whatever...fits good although the corner near drivers side window is pushed up slighty and I dont know why. Nothing major, saved over 500 in shipping and painting though =)
