the way our cars look up front stock... they look a but thin. compared to the rear ends of the car. The sunoco definitely bridges the gap giving the front a beefier look to it. so.. mine just arrive today! i'll post pics once its painted, till then keep the thread alive and pictures comin. great thread BTW!

May I make a suggestion?

I'd like to see some Sonoco "Wide" hoods on an LT1 front in.

Thanks

Man, I'm wanting the "Wide" so bad but I'm worried I won't like it. It looks huge. But I want it for clearance for a single plane intake and LS lid. At some angles its really great and then there's the angle where its GI-Normous! I like it either way but not sure if I can handle seeing it everyday.

I've got the 4" WS6 Hood on my WS6 Trans Am. Anyone else have or hear of trouble with the inner layer of the hood contacting the front edge of the Ram Air airbox? I couldn't figure out why mine didn't wanna close easy and I raised the latch all the way up. The made a BIG front gap. I sent emails with pics to VFN but there isn't much they could do to "fix" my problem. I ended up HAVING to trip more from the front than I intended. I shaved the lines around the intakes and trimmed and filled the perimeter edges. Also closing off the edges of the cowl opening inside. Here's some attached pics:

To me the wide sunoco hood only looks good with skinnys and fattys. It looks way better then in pix i get it all the time. Some angles in pix do that.

i agree, should only be on a car that has an overall "track car" look to it. doesn't look right as a normal looking street car.

I think with some nice CCW Deep dish wheels, it would look just as good. It does look real nasty, I get the mean/monster/serious business look comments all the time. I don't see it tho, I think my sunoco hood looks so refined and smooth, it flows with the car perfectly. People just aren't used to seeing huge cowl hoods I guess lol

ive worked in a bodyshop for 5 years and when i ordered this hood i was expecting alot of work to make this thing fit. This is the first aftermarket hood ive seen come in and fit like factory with minor adjustments, i used a coat of featherfill and primer and painted it and it looks like glass in person. it looks so natural on the car that people dont even ask if the hood is aftermarket. a very amazing product and well worth the money.

Not a cowl hood, just a customer appreciation shot. My old LT1 Formula with a VFN 4" Ram Air hood.
