no way. wtf. they say it is a modification, it looks like they were cut off to allow the cool air to directly flow through the engine.

Umm through to the engine means IN the engine and those cuts don't allow it IN to the engine. Those cuts make the air run OVER the engine. If you've changed from stock throttle body to a carb type intake, that might be useful.

I have been watching that auction and wondering who the hell is bidding on that hood, for that price you could have gotten yourself a nice vfn hood. Good luck with it anyway.

for those not wanting to click the link, here is the complete description of the item.

98-02 Chevrolet Camaro SS Silver Hood OE LKQ

LKQ SKU: 1512B - LKQ170

01 Stock # : b19413
Body Type : 2 Door Car
Make : chevy
Model : camaro ss
Year : 2001

You are bidding on a oem hood removed from a 2001 chevy camaro ss. Hood is silver in color and is a fully functional hood scoop. The hood has been modified more than facrtory to make it even more functional, as shown in pics. The hood has some minor little nicks in places and one stressed corner, but not broken, shown in pic. This hood can be easy fixed up to mint condition. This item would make a great oem replacement or upgrade even.

Fits:

CAMARO 98-02

All of the parts we sell are guaranteed to be in good working condition unless otherwise noted. We ONLY guarantee the part(s) will fit the vehicle(s) listed in the description. Please consult your local dealer for ALL other applications.

well, good luck with the claim. He did include pictures and a pretty accurate description on what was done to it, I would have to say you are stuck with it.

You can clearly see in the pics where it is all cut out and stuff. I wouldn't blame the seller.

I would NEVER have bought anything that was cut up like that. They obviously misrepresented the hood but, you should really know what you're buying before you agree to make a purchase. If you knew how an SS "ram-air" hood is supposed to function, you would have known by looking at those pics that "that" hood was not functional, as they claim it was. Sorry for your misfortune dude. Hopefully, you won't have to actually pay for it.

11 Pictures, 6 of which CLEARLY show the cuts and "modifications", I hate to say it, but you more than likely have just made a $500.00 mistake.

There is almost no chance that ebay will back you up.

The"fully functional" hood scoop is in fact "functional" as it does allow air to enter through the hood, where the air goes from there has nothing to do with the scoop itself. It does not claim to be a ram air hood at all so what is bullshit about that claim? Then with the pictures from all angles clearly showing their botched attempt at being engineers, I say you are stuck with this for sure.
