These are the only numbers on the shocks from the SS.
010433810
288 / 96 C
They are the same numbers on both shocks. They are stock on a 1997 SS. They are MUCH LIGHTER than the shocks that came on my Firebird with the stock steel hood.
The Firebird struts are marked considerably different. They are marked as follows:
STABILUS
USA Gastonia NC 28052
4892EV 0330N
132 / 00 B 21
010433810
288 / 96 C

i think they would be the same. i was just saying that 93-97 have a different lift strut then 98-02 maby the 98-02 guys could use the 93-97 struts if they where lighter from the start

My mecham hood started doing what other vfn hoods have done. I sent that hood back and have a new one. Since then I have not run struts. Ill be looking for some ss ones now. Too bad no one makes a direct replacement that is rated below the stock piece to end this debate. It gets to be a pain without struts from time to time.

my buddy and his dad 95 firehawk and 05 gto they always lower the hood and then let it drop closed.. it sends chills through me... i always pull mine down and gently push it closed.
