Default Claybar tips

Just bought a claybar today and would like some tips on using it. I know keep the surface lubricated but not much else.

Be sure to wash the car before claying. Work the clay bar back and forth until the surface is smooth. As the bar gets dirty knead to a clean section, and if you drop the bar, just throw it away. Thats it and keep it lubricated like you mentioned, good luck.

yeah lubrication and knead it whenever it looks alittle dirty, also make sure to wash your car off after and polish or wax it. Its not hard just really time consuming, i did it today and its great but takes awhile.

Ues clean car soap as the lubrication. It will take out more and is quicker.

I usually clay as I wash, cuts a whole lot of time and makes sure the car is very lubricated. Just run your glove over a couple times and then run the clay over the same area. Works great for me...

The biggest tip you can give to a new clay user is do not use too much pressure. You just want the clay to glide over the surface... if you press too hard you can actually mar/scratch the paint with the contaminants already in the bar. Ive been detailing for a long while now and sometimes I find myself pressing a little harder then a should which makes more work for me when I get to polishing.

Well i just finished my first time and it turned out great I practiced on ym moms car lol its a lite gray with some flake in it wanted to try that before my black car, Looks really good to bad i don't have a camera but it was well worth the time after washing it with meguiars deep crystal car wash after the claying It looked as good as it did when I just waxed without claying. It cant wait to finish buffing and polishing to really see a difference.
