My SLP Performance parts lid that is painted cracked the paint when I latch it down, plus it rubs the hood, so I got a SLP Blackwing lid painted and when its latched, the paint does NOT crack off and it does not rub the hood!

I glued a piece of a bicycle wheel tube to the clips. Felt was too thick and rubber was also too thick. It may it too hard to close the clips and the innertube made it work fine.

I did the same as WhiteKnightZ28 when I painted mine. I wanted it to match the FRC's and also I think it looks better where the lid and lower airbox meet together if they are the same black plastic color. That and you don't have to worry about any paint cause there isn't any!
No issues with rubbing even with the CE badge on the lid.
