So I’m back ditching the red insert from the dash and console, also the alu plastic overlays will be removed.

Now I’m in process to modify my console since it is very difficult to get a nice end of the vinyl with the cup holders in place.

Console is ready for some nice black vinyl (without the hideous red pieces)
This time all going to be black, thinking of replace my red insert from the doors as well to black.

Lesson to learn- do it right the first time

it looks like expansion foam.

How did you do the bezel / curved pieces. I couldnt get mine to go around the curves without excess material, which I sliced and filled with vinyl repair. do you use heat?

Absolutely correct expansion foam it is then filler.

Not sure what you mean with bezel / curved pieces? Is it the big or the small part you referring to? ( I’m from Sweden so don’t laugh please explain:-))

I might be filling in my cup holder, I absolutely hate were they put it. I have a 6Spd and anything I put in it gets in my way while I am shifting through the gears. Annoys the hell out of me. I usually set my drinks in the rear cup holders...or the fold out

Curves around any of the parts. I had a hard time covering the corners of my Camaros stereo bezel.

in this picture:

what did you do around the rear most part (where you cut or filled the two cup holders), how did you deal with the edged & curve without any wrinkles? Did you use heat?

Glue is Fastbond 30 from 3M. Vinyl i use is thinner than normal vinyl, it is called super strech and together with some heat(dont overheat), you can stretch it real easy. But of course there is limitations. There is areas that is absolutely PITA.
In the picture i have marked where i have put cuts and insert sections.

I know it should be easier to work with thinner vinyl. If I want some padded-soft-feeling on some area, ie arm rest area, should I use regular padded vinyl? Or should I stay with thinner vinyl and put some foam pad underneath?
