I wish a happy easter for all F-body lovers on LS1tech!
I tried it three times on my first a-pillar...the second time I tried starting in the lower (pain-in-the-***) area...that didn't work. I ended up with way too much material and I had no way to hide it all without huge wrinkles. The third time I did it and just stretched the crap out of the material at the bottom and it worked fine. The problem is really the bend...because to cover that side that mates with the door when closed, you can't pull in the fabric to easily glue it to the bend, or else you get a mess on the side...conversely if you do the side first, then you have to stretch like nobody's business to get the fabric to glue into the bend.

I just had to stretch like mad. Here's how it turned out:

Any tips on how you started? And how to do it in general?

Ok. Here is my first A-pillar and sail panel. Be gentle!

The dash is looking good! I am not that brave yet.

Thanks Vikingramair!

I got some questions for you, if you don't mind answering them. How much glue are you putting on both materials? Particularly the Vinyl. Is is just a light coating or do you coat it down real good to where it looks wet? Sometimes when after letting the vinyl sit for 10 minutes or so it starts to curl up from the glue. Is this too much? I also was wondering if you know of a good chemical or a good way to get paint off of the pieces?

Thanks.

Ok where are you getting the super stretch vinyl? I can get the 3M glue locally since they have a factory here in Wisconsin not far from where I live, but I cannot find the vinyl online.

I'm going to be wrapping my sail panels, door panels, trunk trim panels, hatch panels, and kicker panels. Basically everything thats tan will be wrapped black and if everything turns out good then I'll do the center console, pillars, and other misc pieces. But I just need to find where I can buy the right vinyl online.

BTW the interior on the Firebird is simply amazing and you have inspired me to do my interior. Thank you

Since i´m living in Sweden i cannot help you with where to get this superstrech in US. You can order it from the shop i using in Sweden. They have a web page in English as well. Prices on vinyl etc.is in Swedish money + tax. Send them an email and ask Q and (enquire for the export prices)
They are really great to deal with.
LMK if you need any help

PM with web url sent to you-since no sponsor
