The door armrests are amazing. I've only done the passengar side so far but I plan on tackling the driver side this week once I'm done with school. Did you got with nappa leather or regular?

Does all of that leather wrap help reduce vibration of the plastic pieces on our aging cars? Does it sound a little more solid in the cabin now?

Do you have any updated pic of the complete interior?

Stick sound deadening material like dynamat or similar to the inside of whatever trim peace you want to make more quiet and solid, it works really well.

Agreed. When mine was gutted aside from the normal areas, I also put dynamat on the backs of the large plastic pieces i the rear cargo area and hatch, made it sound more solid back there and cuts the exhaust drone too.

Old thread but a lot of good info and ideas in here.

Just picked up a 99 Firebird as a a project for my daughter and me and will be doing the interior for sure.

I've seen mention in many threads about the vent rings but no definitive answers on where to find them. Can anyone provide some insight on those? That minor change makes a huge difference I think.

Many years ago (around 2007) there was some guy from Spain, Boyd, advertising this on ebay.
Remember 6LITEREATER (http://6ledesigns.com/) use to have vent rings but not sure if he still sell them?

Thanks. I'll contact 6LE and see what he says.

Certain year Miata vents can be made to fit.

However, I think he was asking about the chrome/polished rings.

I thought the chrome rings were from a different Mazda car then the Miata. I knew the vents could be adapted though I'm not really a fan of that one.

The chrome/polished rings were not from a Miata. They were custom. A few different people made them.

just read all 19 pages....one of the best interior threads i have ever read. bookmarking this for the winter time for sure, viking your car looks amazing, i could see the interior really bringing alot of value into the car. and for the vibrations and everything, the leather wrap MUST help with vibrations, i know i have alot of squeaks and creaks due to the interior pieces rubbing together. as for road and exhaust noise, id agree the vinyl wouldnt be enough. glad to see people still posting on this thread, its great!

Have to agree with Bengston95, I was just looking to maybe do my door panel insert, not my gears are turning and I'm thinking about much more. My wife will thank you later.

Looks great Viking!

Anyone have any tips for using 3m trim adhesive when doing things like the center console lid? I did a test wrap with a cheap one I bought off ebay before ordering my RLGoods stuff and I had issues with the glue balling up and leaving little bumps under the skin. Either I didn't let the glue tack enough or I let it tack to much. I suspect it happened while I was stretching the leather for the best tightest fit I could get.

EDIT: not trying to hijack the thread. Just trying to build upon the posters personal experience and what they might have dealt with.

Default Fastbond

Sorry for raising this thread from the dead...
I am looking to start vinyl wrapping my doors and searched for Fastbond 30. All I am seeing is a jug, and Amazon wants me to verify I am a professional/commercial customer prior to shipping it. What I saw in Viking's pics was a can, that he apparently used a brush to apply. I don't have a spray system, and would prefer to use a brush. Has anyone used the jug with a brush, or is there now a better choice?
