The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I am interested in attempting this myself now. I believe I would start with the doors and perhaps do more later if it came out ok.
My question is, if Im working on the doors, finish one the best I can but it turns out poorly, can I take the vinyl/glue off and get the door back to its normal look without permanent damage or cosmetic changes from the glue etc? Can I wash it off?
Just want to make sure I can go back if my craftsmanship falls short of viking and some of you other guys. Thanks.

If you use spray glue or 3M fastbond 10, these are solvent based and very difficult to remove. But for some applications such shift **** or steering wheel you must use this kind of glue since it is very strong.
I'm looking to do this on an extra set of door to see how well it turns out. I plan on using faux leather of two different types for a contrast with Suede to match my steering wheel and shifter.
Someone needs to make center consoles and doors already done so we can just buy them done..... be plenty of demand since so many doors are cracked.
I'm trying to do what Viking has done, and failing. Maybe the 4 way stretch vinyl is the key, I used regular, and the first 2 tries on a door panel did not turn out well. A lot of decisions have to be made, and a lot of chances to screw up.
Thanks to Viking for starting this thread, its a good one!
I have still some grey ( original colored ) which i want to change to black.
I tried plasti dip this and result was very good. Item is now flat black.
