Default Interior mod-finally new carpet

Finally i received my carpet, black. Material was really nice but when it comes to precut i compare it with the stock there was some diff.No holes or nothing was done for the seats etc.
I placed my old carpet on the new one and started to cut out some areas to have the new carpet to fit in the car. Carpet was also like 4-5 " shorten that stock , in the rear. But other that that it was very nice and very black.
If you want a carpet fit in the car right out of the box- buy GM, aftermarket must always be trimed.

I am VERY interested in how this goes. Please take plenty of progress pics & tips for doin this. I was thinking about just getting a Ebony dash, but if you can do this & it look good, I might want to try it also.

At first, I thought that this would be nearly impossible, but after looking at the dash that's laying on my garage floor, it does look quite possible.

Man thats actually looks easier than I imagined it to be. Have you had any issues yet or any hard spots you really had to work at to get it right?? I'm interested to see how the dash vent areas will look after your done. That was one of my biggest concerns.

Also what about the passangerside airbag? Will you be cutting in around it or did you disable it & just gonna fill in the indentions & cover over it??

Some more pic on the progress,
The dash is more difficult to work on since it is soft, hard plastic panels is much more easier. Regarding the air bag i simply cut the vinyl once it is in place, maybe i will put some kind of strip/trim later.
I found a area to the right of the middle air vents beeing very difficult due to you need to strech the vinyl in all directions-this area i'm still working on(need to find out a clever solution for this **** ). Also the passanger end is quite difficult, you really need to have patience and no rush, then it will look like ****. I'm not completed yet but work is going forward

Kudos on having the ***** to do that to your dash! lol. I had mine recovered by a shop since I didnt feel able to undertake it myself. They ended up putting a few seams in, which I actually ended up liking... gives it a more custom look.

But just wanted to let you know that the airbag cover, is just that, a cover. All it is is a piece of rubber thats glued to the dash. So you can just pull that off, and vinyl it seperately. Its VERY strong adhesive though, but i just used a hair dryer and wedged a screwdriver between the cover and the dash, just working around, and it came off perfect. Its not plastic so it wont crack. That should make covering that part a bit easier! But good look with finishing it up, looks great so far!
