Default 1st detail with the PC lots of pics, other pics from local car show as well

Well since coming back from school I finally got a chance to break out the PC last weekend. My steps were
Wash
Clay
Wash
1 pass with #83 on 4000 and orange pad
1 pass with #80 on 3500 with orange pad
Zaino Z1
Zaino Z5
NXT wax with black pad

In the end it took 10 hours and i got great results. I should have done one more pass with the 83, but oh well, next time

Here is what is next...

Also here are some pics from the local 4th of July Car Show. I got there a little late so i could only take a few pics but here they are

Imapla with a LS1

Vette with a 502cid

The Camaro is C-L-E-A-N! I love the '61 Impala too.

you should try the 83 on speed 5 and 6 for more swirl cutting power, speed 4 doesn't do much. Also for 80, speed 4 1/2 seems to work better than 3.

Why did you use Wax over Zaino???

looks good ..

I would drop the #83, and just do two passes with the #80 ..

#83 is a borderline rotary only product..

I see someone else went down to the Redwood City 4th of July festival. I was there too. That Impala was beautiful.

Zaino and wax don't mix. Use one or the other cuz they don't bond to each other.

and 83 is fine with the PC, sure it works great with the rotary, but it works quite well with the PC. Just don't use a reallly agressive pad, cuz you might get some micromarring. The pad you have is fine for the pc. Trust me, i've done more cars than I can count

You'll also want to step up to a rotary sometime soon, I wish I had years ago. Those things are amazing and save soooooo much time.

My comment on the #83 is based on partially on personal opinion, but also on the opinion and comments of many others .. including a lot of the guys at Meguiar's .. there is an ongoing discussion internally at Meguiar's about whether or not to quit recommending #83 for PC use. there is a lot of question as to whether or not the PC is capable of breaking down the product sufficiently to get optimum performance out of it.

If you get godo results out of it, great .. keep using it .. I also use it with a PC at times .. but I have stopped recommending it to anyone in this type of a forum, because unless I know them personally, I have no idea of their ability or experience level, and I want to point them in a direction wher eI know they will be successful, and most likely to avoid any pitfalls.

The rotary is a great tool .. but it should never be the first one grabbed, in my opinion .. it violates the basic rule of "always use the least agressive method possible" If the defects can be removed with a PC , then a PC is the best choice, although far from the fastest.

unlike you, I haven't done more cars than I can count, I just quit counting when I hit 5,000 several years ago.

Agreed. What is he thinking?

If I owned that Vette it would get a set of knock-offs with thin white walls or redlines so fast.

That Impala is awesome.
