I cant say I like of hate them. I guess its more of the over all theme of the car and the how well its done. I personally likethe Abear hidden coil covers.....they are a bit costly though.

To me they look kind of dorky. Like they don't belong there. A hack job at best. Like the man said , on a Vette they look ok , I mean hell , GM had to put something on there to cover up that ugly *** engine . Who would plunk down that much money for a SPORTS car with that fugly *** motor , no matter how fast it was ? For the money they're asking for a new Vette , the engine compartment should come from the factory chrome plated. It appears the friggin bean counters had there way with the looks of the mighty LS1-2-& 3 . Looks like an industrial engine out of a tractor or something. Its as if GM was ashamed of there top of the line motor. Kinda like , well , lets see now , how can we make this engine look just a little uglier ?

Z Roadster, tell us how you really feel! I think the general consensus is that the LSX engines are not the most eye candy out there in terms of engines. However, IMO the FRC's do contribute a bit of much needed symmetry and clean-up to the engine compartment.

I really haven't seen any other engines that are eye candy. Maybe some Honda or Toyota has it. I'd rather be fast with a basic looking engine than running around with "bling, bling" and not being able to out run a lawn mower.

I do like FRCs!!! I still got some red CFRC's that I need to modify for my trans am, I already did the driver side. I will leave them red with the corvette lettering, I do plan to make the say trans am in the future.

Relocating the coil packs looks cool and all, but talk about voltage loss, works like ****, I advise against it, I spoke with Chuck @ HPE and he said the same thing

your not going to lose power, by running wires that are a couple inches longer
You would have to have some serious resistance, to kill power that way. Everything's fine as long as you use decent wires, and are assembled properly.

I hate FRC's. Look like @ss to me. It's like an ugly b!tch (Sarah Jessica Parker) caking up 12lbs of makeup, to hide that hideous mug.
I wanna see the engine. It's not that hard to clean up the wires a bit, relocate the coils, get some valvecovers, or shave and paint/P.C. your stockers.

I would much rather see some trick valve covers.

Check this thread:

i got mine at the dealership i worked at for 30 bucks a piece. gonna smooth them out, paint them maybe with a bird and trans am and thats it. I'm not gonna stick the huge trans am emblems that go on the outside of the car on there, most likely just make a sticker on my vinyl machine and paint over it, peel it off throw on the clear and done.

Had some on order through Afterthoughts but canceled my order to buy my new 9" today. Figured a new rear end was more important than a set of $320 fuel rail covers.

I just noticed those black wire looms on the inside of the valve covers. That's clean, man.

[QUOTE=Mark IXZD 150;7552799]I don't care for Camaros or other LS1 transplants that use factory covers that say "Corvette". The aftermarket ones or modified stock ones can look pretty good. I relocated the coils and got cooler valve covers to avoid fuel rail covers on my car.

I don't mind covers but they can't say CORVETTE on a damn Camaro.. fill them in!

In the end they are the lazy way to do it. That's why the OEMs do them, it's a cheap way to make an ugly engine look cleaner. And while a FRC looks better than all the junk showing it will always look better to take the time to make the engine look good without FRC's.

FRCs (I was lazy)

No FRCs (I think it looks better even if you can see the coils)
