I agree it doesnt look too bad at all. I would adjust the headlight covers to close that gap a little bit more. You can shim the fenders a little as well if you want them closer to the hood. I see the raised part on the passenger side and I would be a little irritated by that but hopefully something can be done to fix it. Good luck on it man

The shim is simply a spacer for the bolts that connect the hood to the rear hinges. Placing them between the hood itself and hinge will raise the rear portion of the hood. The best ones are the U shaped (open end) that body shops commonly use. This allows the bolts to be loosened without removal so you can slide them into place. Depending on how bad the fitment is you may or may not have to use a shim for each bolt. There is no hard rule, just take your time and experiment with the shims for the best fitment and adjustments.

man im not going to lie, when you started this thread i was thinking something drastic, that truly isnt too bad at all, especially aftermarket. I've seen A LOT of aftermarket hoods, hell mine is either GM or SLP and it still doesn't fit perfect. You have to take aftermarket hoods with a grain of salt, that truly isnt that bad i would be satisfied
Yeah, I agree... My earlier comment about it sucking was based on pics that I didn't realize weren't of your hood.
Yours just needs a little tweaking from a good shop and it would be 99% perfect from the pics you have shown us.
Granted, it does have a couple of issues, which is a couple more than my Sunoco hood had (had no issues with mine at all), but I wouldn't sell it and get another...

I'm with Sneaky on this, from all the hype about sponsors on these boards, and the point less apperciation threads for having "truely a great product post your pics" you'd expect them to **** gold bricks.
For the cash you pay out, every one of the hoods (or what ever you buy from who ever) better fit perfect every damn time. I know these things are hand made and 99.9% of the time they fit perfect or close to, but those.01% they should take the hood (or anything else for that matter) back no questions asked. Those pictures alone should be enough for them to say "Here's our fed ex number ship it back"
For the time it takes some one to save the money then wait the time for the hood or whatever to get to you, you'd hate to have to deal with the time and the headache going back n forth with stuff like this.

That was a LS1tech member's car that I posted. He had come out to a local car cruise in back in August and we took pics of his car. I had just had my car in the same shop as he had his to get the hood painted so I'd heard about the quality of the hood from them prior to seeing it. When we saw it in person we saw what the shop was talking about and the owner of the car

I think you are being picky. Nobody can expect an aftermarket fiberglass hood to fit every car perfectly. Even stock f-bodies have such sloppy body panel fitment tolerances, sometimes the OEM stuff doesn't even fit the same on two different cars. Those pics aren't horrible, you can adjust the headlight doors to even things out a little. This isn't unheard of when doing body mods.
It isn't that people do not speak negatively about VFN, it is just that the others seem to be a little more informed on what to expect when it comes to buying an aftermarket fiberglass component vs OEM. I had a VFN WS6 hood on a previous car, it didn't fit as smoothly as a factory WS6 hood, but it also didn't cost as much. I was pleased with it, I got what I paid for.

first we mounted and fit the hood and drove around for almost 3 months to let it settle. then took it off, sanded, smoothed and puttied as much of the imperfections as possible, and etched the line around on of the intakes.Test fit again for another alignment and adjusted as best as possible. then baked it with a car battery sitting on the corners to bring them down. We couldn't get the rear pass corner to come up. Mounted again and adjusted before final paint.

I have to disagree with everyone else and say that looks like crap...I would not have been happy either...they were my number one thougt on buying a hood but after the threads I have seen about their fitment probs, despite all the good threads, I think I will go oem with an ss hood..sorry man that does look rough
